In this tutorial I'm going to provide Clubs a way how to add personal Streams to
their autos so that they don't have to fool with the editor.. AS MUCH. This only
works if the DJ has the same stream provider as the club. For example if the
club is using Dj EXtreme and the DJ's stream is from Hot-Lix's it won't work.
But if both the club and the DJ are both using streams from the same provider
then that works. Also for convenience, if the club don't want to go through the
hassle of finding out who has what streams, then they can just purchase one
personal just for guest DJ's to use and then just dole out the stream to the
guest DJs occasionally changing up the password in their streams control panel
do DJ's that come and go don't abuse it.
First off if we are going to add a DJ that's not the club owner we will need the info for their stream, IP address port and password. Next the club owner who has the Auto DJ must log into their Stream control panel provided by their host. In my case that means opening up your favorite web browser and pasting in "http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx:2082" after hitting enter or clicking go.. you will be presented with a page asking for your credentials. the username is likely sc_xxxx and then a pass. This will get you into your panel where you can restart your stream if its offline change your password if your provider allows, monitor usage and many other things. Now what we want to do is open Auto DJ Management enter the username and password for the stream you want to add. (Be Mindful as soon as u submit this you will be presented with some information you will not be able to access afterward. I have not found a way to retrieve this info other than removing the stream and re adding so u want to have your favorite text editor open so u can copy paste and save this info for later.) Press add and capture the info. You will be given a IP, port and a password that looks like sc_XXXX:XXXX
Now that we have this info its time to set up our SAM. nothing needs to be done to the Auto DJ in the RLC editor for this to be set up.
First go to the Encoders list in SAM Create a new encoder. Use the info you just captured from the DJ manager to set up this new encoder. Next go to the Static Relay list and add a new static relay with the information from the Auto of the club. When the DJ is in the club as long as no other DJ is using this stream when he fires up his encoder the auto will switch from streaming the music uploaded to the server to the music coming from the DJS SAM. Of course make sure the Relay is online as well and you have music on your deck playing
The only issue with this method of doling out streams to guest DJs is that sometimes when multiple DJ's are playing as in a benefit or something if the last DJ will forget to turn off his encoder while they're still in the region, therefore preventing the next DJ from being able to perform. If that DJ leaves the region the stream will be released for the next performer.
As always if I have left things out please let me know. I am very busy and this is quick and dirty but I hope I have covered what was needed Contact me with questions or comments.
